Stable work
Mucking out and carrying water keep you warm. Then you stop, and the cold is back. A heated vest leaves your arms free. Switch it to low while you work and up when you stand still. Høgge² goes in the wash afterwards: unplug the power bank first.

An indoor school keeps the rain off, not the cold. In the warm-up and the walk breaks you cool down fast. A vest under your riding jacket warms belly, back and neck, on three levels.
Hacking out

Keep your own riding jacket

Can you ride in a heated vest?
Yes. A heated vest has no sleeves, so your arms and shoulders move freely. Wear it over a base layer and under your riding jacket, and turn it down while you ride.
How long does a heated vest stay warm at the yard?
With the 10,000 mAh power bank a Gløde vest gives 3–6 hours of warmth, with the 20,000 mAh power bank 6–12 hours, depending on the heat level. On the low level, the small power bank covers most mornings at the yard.
Can I wash a heated vest after stable work?
Yes. Unplug and remove the power bank first. Then machine or hand wash at a maximum of 30 °C on a gentle cycle, in a wash bag. Let it air-dry and do not tumble dry. Always follow the care label.
Can I make my own riding jacket heated?
