Neck cooler with heating
A neck cooler with heating is a battery band you wear around your neck. A Peltier plate against your skin cools on hot days and warms on cold mornings. You charge it via USB-C, like your phone.
Which types exist?
Neck fan
Small fans blow air along your neck. Light and long-running. On a really hot day, though, it only moves warm air.
Cooling wrap or ring
A gel wrap or ring you chill before use. Silent and battery-free. It stops cooling once it has warmed up.
Peltier neck cooler
A thermoelectric plate actively cools your skin, with a fan to carry the heat away. You feel it in warm air too. It drains the battery faster.
Peltier with heating
The same plate with the current reversed, so it warms. One device for July and the cold platform in November. The warmth stays local.

How to choose
- Cooling plates. More contact area feels more noticeable.
- Runtime per mode. Compare it with the plate on, not the fan-only figure.
- Heating mode. Several levels and an automatic shut-off.
- Weight and fit. A flexible band is easier to wear all day.
- Charging. USB-C; some run straight from a power bank.
- Noise. The fan hums. That matters in a quiet office.
Safety basics. Look for CE marking and follow the manual. Keep the vents free and long hair away from the intakes. Do not wear it while sleeping unless the manufacturer allows it. Not for small children.

Frequently asked questions
Can a neck cooler also warm you?
Only if it has a thermoelectric (Peltier) plate with a heating mode: reversing the current makes the same plate warm. Neck fans and cooling wraps can only cool.
How long does the battery of a neck cooler last?
With the cooling plate on, manufacturers usually quote a few hours up to around eight; fan-only mode often lasts considerably longer. Check the runtime for the mode you will use most.
Is a neck fan the same as a neck cooler?
Not quite. A neck fan only moves air, which feels less effective when the air itself is hot. A Peltier neck cooler actively chills a plate against your skin.
